The Sissiboo Guest House
is a restored Acadian homestead, built in 1906 by the Amirault family. The house overlooks the mouth of the Sissiboo River, on the shores of Saint Mary’s Bay, where the tidal estuary provides homes for seagulls, seals, and herons; wild apple orchards in the fields around shelter song birds, deer, coyotes, pheasants, and porcupines. Nearby, local businesses offer kayak and canoe adventures, horse riding, and whale watching; visitors can also enjoy golfing, hiking, and cycling. And for supper? Arguably the best lobster in the world.
Two guest rooms, both cosy and private, are comfortably furnished with queen beds and radio alarm clocks. Guests share the four-piece bath. The Sissiboo Room offers a fine view of the coast. Guests are provided with a small, shared study in the library/foyer, with wireless internet access and telephone.
Well-behaved pets are welcome.
